You should care more about IVs.
My Dewott has 20+ in all of them, except for 30 on attack and 6 on defense.
Gonna probably stick an eviolite on the guy.

you might also want to add a trapinch in your time(you will need a dragon type later) and you're gonna also take zorua from driftveil city.Also, it would be a good idea to catch an eevee in castelia and later evolve it into espeon.
Finally, if i were you, i would have already catch a riolu from floccesy ranch.....

Just pick Pokemon that you haven't used before. Even if you decide you don't like them halfway through the playthrough, the wild Pokemon levels aren't too different from the trainer Pokemon levels and I'm pretty sure that you get the Lucky Egg handed to you in-game.

also i would switch the magnemite for a mareep.
cause if you have already caught a riolu, you might learn it a flash cannon later, and with its aura sphere it would be a good assistance(not to mention that it will be quite helpfull in E4).
Definetely take the zorua.Zoroark is really a badass.With it, i took the 2(ghost and psychic) from the E4.Esepon also helped me a lot(E4 again)

Neat thanks for the assistance. I kinda want to keep my Magnemite. I had a mareep that became an ampharos go with me all through soul silver. Are Zorua just regular finds in Black 2?

it's part of the story.after you reach driftveil city,you will go on the ex-team plasma base.there one of the sages, will give you the zorua(gift).
My team axtually was: samurott, lucario, espeon, zoroark, electabuzz(white 2 only) and flygon(which later i switched it to hydreigon)

From what I understand, since its one of N's pokemon it has perfect IVs or something if your into that kind of stuff
