My gameplay experience should not consist of moving left and right for hours on end. No matter how good you are at IV breeding there is always a part of it that is left to very frustrating chances. Also it is insanely easier for hackers make IV'd pokes that come up as legit so why not level the playing field between Hackers, RNG (which I don't count as hacking), and people who just want to play the fucking game.

They're an unnecessary and badly made mechanic. Riding a bike up and down a route for hours just to get good IVs isn't fun or engaging. It's just tedious. IVs also give hackers a big advantage over legitimate players compared to EVs. If they ignore IVs for stats and Hidden Power calculation but keep the characteristics (Likes to run, Often dozes off, etc) it will make team building much less stupid while keeping individuality. For Hidden Power, they should make it more intuitive like natures by making them directly passable through breeding and making the base power always 70.

EVs are a fantastic idea, they let you feel like you are training your pokemon specifically, that that sandshrew trainer from the old anime. You gain EVs whether you want them or not, so you're alway improving, albeit mosty suboptimaly. The difference between a good trainer and a bad trainer isn't measured in hours of work, simply in attention and care spent on your pokemon.

IVs on the other hand provided a much much smaller benefit for much much more work. Breeding is tedious and in the end you're left with a collection of stats instead of that bro you caught on your adventure (before you call me a karenfag, I simply enjoy winning with a memorable bro over winning by pushing buttons)
The only good thing about IVs is finding wild pokemon with different stats.

What I would like to see in gen 6 along with the improved ev training is some sort of service where you can allow you pokemon to choose 3 "specializations". You can pick 3/6 stats to get 31 IV's and the others are something like 20. This way IV distribution is streamlined for everyone but you still get to customize your pokemon to a degree in a way that could avoid breaking the fourth wall as terribly as the current IV system.

I'd like EVs to be more easily viewed in-game, the romoval of IVs, and wild Pokemon start with random EVs. Since you can see the EVs it's easier to use berries to get yourself where you want to be, and it's all consolidated into one system, not an odd mash-up of clunky sister systems.

The funny thing, the only IV that really needs to be perfect is speed a majority of the time; a couple points off of attack or whatever are negligible.

Honestly, if we just made a Hidden Power tutor and made it base 70 attack, everything would be great.

And the fact that you can almost guarantee that you'll pass down at least 1 IV is nice as well (with 2 IVs being almost just as easy and 3 IVs being manageable). The problem is that we've conditioned ourselves to believe that only perfect will do. For those reasons, people are willing to hack perfect Pokemon into the game just so they have that tiny edge against the opponent (even though it won't make a difference most of the time). I'll admit that Hidden Power can be a nuisance to get but other than that IVs are fine.

tl;dr: IV breeding isn't as necessary as EV training and providing you have an internet access and the ability to post on /vp/, IV breeding for 2 IVs won't take much time at all.

I like IV's, but I think there should be a limit so you don't breed for weeks hoping for a perfect IV Pokemon. So like, every pokemon has 100 or 90 IV's, but the breeding determines where they go. That way no pokemon can be absolutely horrible.

Battling is luck based, dickweed. Crits, Max/Min, Preidictions, all that shit is luck that either the RNG or the opponent, all can allow you to win or lose.

You can't expect teams that have been designed to be very good to be defeated by a bunch of random Pokemon just thrown together. Besides, it is possible to get a somewhat far. I managed to unlock the Champion's tournament with my in-game team (even though they have terrible synergy).

Their rng abuse is insane the higher you go up.

But anyhow ima talk about pokemon stadium since I remember this bullshit vividly. I had snorlax with hyper beam. It misses three times in a row against a mid tier pokemon.

There were no accuracy modifiers. The chance of missing hyper beam is 1/256 as all games in gen 1/2 have a 99.97 percent chance of hitting.

so 1/256 x 3 =

1/16777216 if my math is right

aka 5.960464477539063E-8

8 0's in front of the 5

But back on topic I had some dickwad in the battle tower use protect five+times in a row while I was toxic'd. Each time you use it the chance of it working is divided by 2.

So 6.25 percent on the last one working. I didn't even account for the probability of that working.
