What problems are you already running into with X and Y?

For me it's knowing I'll start with Fennekin which is a fire but I want to try out Talonflame...which is already a fire. Too much fire on a team for me.

Getting back on topic, I still have no idea which starter I want. I think it's pretty obvious that their evos will be *something* like pic related, so I'm not waiting on the evos to decide. I've never boxed my starter on a first run, though. I dunno. I always know which starter I like best, but this gen, all three are kind of perfect.

Have you played any other 3DS games? The maps are small and the story is usually short. Two things Pokemon use heavily

And with GF updating to 3D they have to put in models as well as music and animations.

the 3DS has just as much power as a PS1, if not more, so I don't see why a long story would be out of the question

Were all short and had small overworlds.
The only thing that gives me hope is Paper Mario, the most similar to Pokemon in setup which had quite a few different lengthy levels.

No, it's actually pretty small. But it makes up for that because it's gameplay heavy with tons of playability.

It doesn't need exploration like Pokemon, if you wanted to pick one with a large map it should've been MH3D

The trainer moved slightly on a path in Trailer 2, and people thought this meant it was free. When in reality she they were adjusted to a grid.

I mean the fact that the dex has been split up into three parts tells you that it's going to have a large map.
