Many people were saying they would go digital with XY to have extra save spots by using many SD cards.

But I just learned the prevented that with AC:NL because it saves in the machine, not the card. Do you think they'll do the same with Pokémon?

Those special Xerneas/Yvetal 3DS' come preloaded with it so it's safe to assume that's the case, captain.

Those are installed on the SD card that comes with the 3DS.

As for the extra save slots, it would never work because the system checks if it's the correct data that was used previously, if not; it wipes the save data, making that extra save unplayable on the system. People tried this with Animal Crossing to have multiple towns and then cried when their saves didn't work.

Maybe the official backup app on the system might allow multiple backups? But I haven't used it so I don't really know.

It DOES work with other games. AC:NL was the first one to do this.

nope. even if I bought X/Y digital, I would have to get the next game physical just so I can keep my Pokemon and make it easier to build a team I want.

Same difference. The thing with AC:NL was that the save is in the system/the system checks for the right save. Copy the data, change the SD cards, the game will tell. Other games before didn't do that. That's my point - will be it a thing from now on?

They try not to piss off the retailers, like how some PC games were pulled off shelves in GameStop (I think, I'm not American) because they had Steam on the back; implying they would be trying to compete with superior Steam pricing.

Just use the save transfer tool to move the save from the cartridge to the SD card.

Can you do this the other way around? Cuz I ordered FE Awakening cartridge but wanna play the demo while it doesn't arrive, will I be able to transfer the save into the cartridge?
