I went with Oshawott in White 1, but I never let it evolve past Dewott and just made it an HM slave. Should I do the same for White 2?

Wottergate butthurt still goes strong

Samurott and Emboar are perfectly acceptable starters, only Serperior being hard to use.

If Blastoise, Blaziken and Torterra for example were unova starters, you fags would be complaining too, because when we get down to it, they are all outclassed in-game by other Unova Overpowered beasts (considerin Blaziken doesn't have Speed Boost)

Stop being a faggot, and use Samurott like a man

Blastoise might be overshadowed by other water types, but at least he looks cool. Blaziken looks like shit, but at least it is strong. And Torterra is actually pretty awesome if you watch out for ice attacks.

Not OP, but I didn't like the Unova starters, and not because of Wottergate (I away when that all went down). Emboar was too slow for me, Serperior didn't have good moves, and Samurott is decent at best (thus the one I use most often). Also Blaziken is hardly outclassed in game. He is the best fire-type option and one of the best fighting options. Torterra had powerful double STAB options, though he also suffered from shit speed, and his ice weakness was rarely a problem. Blastoise is entirely outclassed by some pokemon offensively, but was defensively solid.

Blaziken is argualy better than Emboar, but in-game he would be outclassed by Darmanitan (powerful attack and higher speed) and outclassed by both Volcarona and Chandelure in the special department

Blastoise would be outclassed by Jellicent in every possible way, both defensively and offensively

Serperior, Samurott and Emboar are easily o the average level of any othr batch of starters, not their fault they are stuck in a region full of overpowered beasts and that they are the epicenter of the great Wottergate butthurt

I picked him as well in Black 2 and haven't evolved him, but it gets annoying pressing b all the time. I should have picked Tepig. He's the only one I'll fully evolve.

I actually like Samurott. It's one of the few Pokemon where the evolution really drastically changes it, and I love the idea of a badass sea lion wielding giant shell-swords.

I guess I can kinda understand the hate for it, but I still find it to be my favorite starter alongside Empoleon.

Blastoise has always been a solid starter, it's even UU unlike Samurott (NU), Emboar (RU), and Serperior (NU). It can spin and outspeeds all of these mons except Serperior, who is grass, literally the worst type. I never took a close look before, but holy shit the gen 5 starters are complete garbage.

Honestly, W2 has enough good grass/fire/water 'mons that you don't have to use a starter if you don't want to.

I've just started White 2 as well. I chose Tepig because Fire/Fighting is a useful type combo.

You can always choose to box your starter and choose a different pokemon you know. They are strong but not compulsory.

On a related note, my team at the moment is boiling down to just Emboar and Watchog. I love my two buddies! Definitely getting the Grumpig I always wanted, but I need recommendations for other, less-used pokemon? I have Swanna but may ditch it for a different water-type. (I'm at Misaltron)

I've used all three and Emboar was the best one for me. Serperior actually wasn't that bad (save for anything with Grass resistances) because Coil, Leaf Blade, Leech Seed and Toxic got me through some tough situations. I couldn't do Samurott.
