This could allude to how the first American settlers called them buffalo, because they thought they were Asian Buffalo and they were in India. Hence why Bouffalant is not called Afrobison.

You cannot be a seafaring nation and think the wold is flat. That is not a thing that is possible. If you can see ships coming from the horizon, you know the world is round.

The issues Columbus had funding his expedition was because he thought the world was a lot smaller than it was. People thought he'd starve to death before reaching India. And he would've if he hadn't hit America

I'm holding out hope for a region based on California/the west coast of the US. There's an incredible amount of different environments around here. Burgh is the gym leader of the city based on San Francisco
