Maybe because he worked well for me in WiFi and friend battles in BW1 I grew to overestimate him, but when training and using him again in BW2's story he really did underperform, not doing enough damage and being taken down pretty easily.

I played White, picked this guy and I didn't think he was too bad. But I decided to pick him again for White 2 since I didn't really like the other two. I'm not sure whether he just sucked or he was outclassed by his team members, but he was so lacklustre in that playthrough.

Although all the gen 5 starters seem pretty dissapointing. I used Samurott in my second White playthrough and while he was better than Serperior, he just didn't give me the same sense of trust that I get with every other starter Pokemon. One can usually rely on their starter to get them through most tough battles but the gen 5 starters didn't.

Hopefully Chespin won't dissapoint me.

Never had anything fragile before. It was basically one and done.

On side note, Roserade has always done well for me in Platinum and Black2, but I always had something with good Defense to team up with him too

When I was a little man, I exp shared nincada to get shedinja and Ninjask.
I recently tried to level him up in Sapphire and he was so weak I wanted to cry. I got him up to level 16 when I gave up and threw him in the pc until I got the EXP share again.

The reason behind this is because Dragon type is special in RSE and he is a physical attacker. Idk what gamefreak was thinking with teh attack and sp attack split.

Meh i was pretty disappointed with Staraptor. Everybody said it was good but then it turned out to be mediocre. I'm not saying it is pure shit like Farfetch'd, but it's not /good/ either.

Magcargo. I really like it's design. A snail made of lava, genius.

It fails at EVERYTHING else. It's too slow to be useful. Not strong enough to dent opponents. Great defensive stats, but horrible typing.
It's good for nothing.

So a powerful hit for one turn or 2 almost as strong hits. Also a sword dance and vigoroth packs bigger punches than slaking

That's because all Dark-type attacks were Special and Mightyena was a physical attacker. Even with the Split Mightyena is pretty bad.

I had a similar reaction.

I tried many offensive sets, but it always came up lacking. Not enough coverage, not enough speed. The speed was pretty major, and you rarely had power if you went full speed.

However, I then tried the bulky Calm set with HP/Def investment and wow did that impress. As long as you don't expect it to take on things it shouldn't be anywhere near, it has great bulk, good support options, and is a great pivot.

No pic but the Blitzle line. Goddamn, I loved the designs and everything but the damn thing was so fragile. Every hit didn't take me down to the yellow or slightly red sections of HP. Oh, no. That shit was full white as in KO'ed.
