So what are some glorious/memorable moments you've had in battles? I'm talking moments like having one of your pokemon hold on by a sliver of health and narrowly winning a battle, that sort of thing. Single player or with others, childhood or present day, matters not.

I hanging out with some people at my friends house, doing nothing in particular. I noticed his GBA sitting nearby with FR in it. I turned it on to look at his pokemans and I noticed that he was saved right before Moltres. I announced that I was gonna throw regular pokeballs at it at full health until I caught it, no matter how long it took or how many times I had to reset.

The most intense battle I ever had was in 2001, I guess, when I first played through Silver. It was the gym battle against Morty and I was down to Togepi, which kept shooting ridiculous attacks thanks to Metronome and eventually just barely won the battle. I don't remember what kinda attacks it used, but I still remember how much in awe I was.

I was playing Fire Red on gba. I don't remember place but...that "Team R" base or something. Where you go through bunch of rocket henchmen.
All my team was beaten except Golbat. He was tough boss. But...at the end he left with read line of HP and i was almost at the end of that base going to fight the boss.
I said "oh well... i guess i will return to this later after some levels, most of my pokemon are dead".
Then i tried to find at least one Potion\Super Potion in my bag. Nope...nothing. Not even one revive.
Then i see Rare Candy. I give it to Golbat.
AWESOME! GOLBAT IS EVOLVING! IT'S CROBAT NOW!
Crobat beats everybody like a boss and continues being a Super-Bro in every pokemon game after that.
Damn i love that bat.
Seriously. If pokemon were real, finding a zubat will be my first thought.

Elite Four Team was:
Arcanine
Serperior
Golduck
Flygon
Galvantula
Scrafty

Entire team survived until the champion, lost everyone except for Golduck and Arcanine to freaking Hydreigon, and Arcanine lost to Iris's Aggron. Golduck had to survive four other higher leveled pokemon.

And he did.

He fucking destroyed everyone else, even survived a critical hit from her Lapras, barely holding on through Archeops and managing to Waterfall the shit out of it.

Here's to you, Captain. I may have not ever liked Golduck before, but you proved that I was wrong about your line.

I went into the E4 in HGSS for the second round with my team being around lvl 50, just for the EXP and to see how far I'd get. I got to Koga easily, and then I managed to use Skarmory for that entire battle. I just started with it because Skuntank knew Explosion, but then after two Swagger boosts from Toxicroak, it was strong enough to kill everything with Fly.

Once I got to Karen, I was sure I was going to lose. But then my last Pokemon survived her last Pokemons attack with 1 HP, and took it out.

And then Salamence killed everything once I got to Lance. But it was fun.

You need to have beaten the Elite Four, have 60 Pokemon in the Kanto PokeDex, and have completed the Sevii Islands sidequest to get the National PokeDex. As such, it's impossible for Golbat to evolve before you beat the Elite Four.

It would have been a cool story, but you probably remembered it wrong.

Random WIFI battle.
We're both down to our last pokémon, my Bronzong with Zen Headbutt, Payback, Reflect and Light Screen and his Scizor with Bullet Punch Superpower, Bug Bite and something els he wouldn't use. Scizor having full health and my Bronzong having less than 50%. We slowly brought down eachother and with a few early superpowers from him and 1 or 2 crits with payback scizor fainted with Bronzong having 2 hp left.

On my very first nuzlocke only one pokemon stood out and made me regret ever erasing my game. I almost beat the champion but Simon's metagross was too strong to finish off. I ended up restarting my game out of disappointment and nuzlocke rules and quickly regreted it. I should of saved Smiley before starting over. Because of him I actually like the zubat line now.
