Explorers Partner: Not quite as bland, but still pretty boring. Also spends the entire first third of the story dragging you around on what he wants to do, essentially using a poor lost stranger to fuel his career ambitions that he didn't have the willpower to try himself. 3/10, stay away from me.
Gates to Infinity partner: Less bland motivations that I slowly started appreciating as the world was starting to be built up, thinks about me and what I'd like, and is willing to put his ass on the line for me without being too sticky for my liking. 8/10
