I've always hated this about the anime. It's just lazy animation. I don't expect them to completely uphold to the stats in the game, but Escavalier has Lances on its fucking arms. It want to see it jumping around using them. This is the same shit with Weavile using Shadow Ball in every fucking anime appearance.

Pretty much the first thing it did outside of its tank was take the humans for assholes and destroy the lab, no training required.

Because Oldtwo deflected all attacks from normal pokemon, Mew was the only one that could give him a challenge. Newtwo let a bunch of normal pokemon smack it around, and didn't even try to mind control the guy that was her main attacter.
