I actually checked around PokeBeach for a translation and Pokemon Enterprises one of those gimmick cards that are never released outside of Japan.

Why did Ghetsis have to be such a mediocre supporter, /vp/? I've got like three of the normal holo rare versions (no full art), and every one sits in my cardboxes, even though I have a Plasma deck. N disrupts better and draws you more cards. Juniper draws you more cards. Fucking Plasma Grunt will usually draw you more cards. At best, he combos well with Stoutland BC, but even that's kinda meh. This is a waste of a holo rare. I wish I'd gotten something better in that slot in my packs.

I feel that a single Ghetsis is nice on TDK, when you have control of the field just doing 150+hypnotoxic per turn and rush in/retreat to go over and over is nice to make some disruption imo.

What is TDK?

My Plasma deck is Eeveelutions; it's sort of a "funsies" deck. My other two decks are Durant/Klingklang and Darkrai Laser.

While Gothitelle/Accelgor won US Nats, it's a medium-slow deck that needs time to get set up properly.

The one thing that irks me is that we rarely get decklists for decks that do well in Nats, I kinda wish I could see the Kyurem count in some of those TDK decks.

Having my opponent put out 3 EXs on turn one is really starting to piss me off. Even with my special Sigilyph...

I still can't get the hang of building a deck. The best luck I've had is a Drk/Psy Hydreigon deck. Nothing else seems to be working right.

Getting a T1 attack is one of Sigilyph's (and by extension, Quad Sigilyph) biggest issues, the earliest a Sigilyph can attack is T2 (DCE and a Psychic Energy) without resorting to the always-shaky EtherDex tactic.

TCG related. My local shop is holding pre-orders for Plasma Blast at $88 each. I feel like I should just go ahead and order two or three just because I can reasonably afford to pitch money at trading card games now. Other than GenViri, are we expecting anything playable? The only thing I can think of would be Suicune and the Silver tools.

My plane tickets alone are pushing 600 USD. I don't know where you live but unless you stay at a hotel that is far away from the venue and share it with friends you need more than that. Hotels within 20 blocks of the center all look like they're around 200-500 a night.

I pull off a similar drive (SoCal to the San Juan islands in WA) every summer and winter, Vancouver, BC is just an extra 2-3 hours depending border waits. And that's IF I travel back SoCal, I might stay up here in WA until a week before Worlds.

You don't need Virbank+Hypnotoxic since either everyone will use Virizion now, or you will be OHKO things with G-Booster.
Add the fourth colress machine, since it's the key to "LOL 200" each turn.
Drop one or two shadow triads and dude... you forgot Juniper.

But thinking on a list before we know if there's even going to be a rotation is reckless imo

Well, at least that gets rid of Crushing Hammers, I'd say the same for Gothitelle but it's getting reprinted in EX Battle Boost.

Another thing I noticed is that PokeBeach reported on this, stating that it's not a 100% guarantee.

Yes, older print versions of a card can be used.

I think the only relevant card that goes away with NXD-on is the eel, so this is pretty much the same as no rotation.

We have attacks dealing damage based on prizes, tools, your bench, opponent's bench, special conditions, damage counters, stadiums, different types of energy, special energy in discard, basic energy in discard, pokemon in discard, etc. Pretty much the only type of attack we don't have is damage based on deck size (which would be very hard to do)

See Ho-Oh EX, it has an interesting ability and, even though its flippy as fuck and not as reliable as other energy acceleration cards, it was actually played. I believe we don't really need any testing to see that Cradily won't be a top deck, but people are still going to play it because of its unusual attack. Apparently SD is when you and your opponent both win at the same time in an equal number of ways, but it does not have to be the same way. If one wins both ways, but the other only one, the one with the most ways wins.

But going with the actual help:

+1 Kyurem PLF (Optional, since it's your main attacker)
+1 Keldeo EX (2 if you fear Gothitelle/Accelgor)
- 1 N (Since you have a full bench on the first turns Colress gets better and you don't give a fresh hand to your opponent)
+1 Skyla (To get crucial OHKO items, see below)
- 2 Shadow Triad (You don't really need this and are just a waste for supporter on this deck)
+1 Ghetsis (Optional, gives crucial disruption on late game)
+1 HTL (Grants you OHKO so this is a must)
+2 Pokemon Catcher (A must too.)
+1 Virbank City Gym (Same as HTL)
- 2 Frozen City (You don't really need this, and you're going to see a lot of plasma. This stadium might help against Blastoise, but won't help you on the last rounds)
- 2 DCE (You won't be using Thundurus second attack most of the time and I'll explain why you don't need this for Lugia on the next post)

Your main attacker will always be Kyurem PLF, he is fast, consistent powerful and only gives one prize, that is why most TDK decks run 4 and also to start with him as active.

On T1 you'll need an active Kyurem, prism or blend and colress machine to spread some damage. Also on T2-T3 you need to have a full bench.
In T2-3 your field should look like this:
Active Kyurem with three energies, 3 benched Deoxys EX, benched Keldeo EX with float stone and benched Thundurus EX.
All you need to do is:

1) Catcher the nastiest thing on bench (Optional)
2) Attack with 120+30 bonus of Deoxys
3) HTL+Virbank City Gym
- That's 180 damage, anything without the help of a tool or gym is KOed in one turn.
- On the next turn:
1) Keldeo EX Rush in+Retreat with float stone.
2) 180 damage again with Kyurem and HTL
You get a KOed Kyurem, get Thundurus Active to charge the second Kyurem to repeat.
Only when you have three prizes left bench Lugia for surprise factor.

Thanks for the reply, I know Keldeo gives me nice status counter, but the current meta is about dealing 150 damage plus HypnoVirbank for the KO, so there's no time for Rush+Retreat (I'm looking at you, TDK). I don't know why I said Gothgor since double Keldeo fucks it up lol.

I forgot to add that I don't want to spend on three tropical beach, and that I think that not running any stadium is better and gives me more consistency than running a mediocre counter stadium (Pokemon Center, Battle City, etc.)
So I better added more supporters (Bianca)

I'm not saying my list is the ultimate and best list, I really enjoy people criticizing my ideas so I can notice other things that didn't pass by my head at that time.

What a pointless rotation. All we lose is Energy Switch which will most likely be reprinted in XY1 along with all the usual trainers. The extended format thing does sound interesting, although it's pretty pointless as well until it offers more than 3 extra sets.

The thing I'm most worried about is that they'll probably keep up the trend with the big basics, possibly the EX's as well, in order to keep XY-on cards compatible with the current ones so that the extended format doesn't get fucked up. Which means we're stuck with the current style of the game for quite some time.

Any transition will have to be slow, simply because EXes are still in the format now. If XY steps down the power, it can't step down muich, or the current format will be AWFUL because none of the new cards will be used.

We're stuck with the current general style for another year, at least, unless we get more anti-EX in the format. Which could happen. Maybe.

I wouldn't even be surprised if they made this rotation just because Gothitelle won the nationals, and they want to get rid of evolutions. An official statement in an pokemon-card.com blog said how the card designers feel that evolutions are bad for the game because they are hard to use, so I guess it makes sense. Though Virizion gets rid of paralysis lock at least.

Keldeo isn't going to rotate, and it's a pretty good card.
It's a sweeper with Blastoise, and it's an infinite switch with float stone and get's rid of status problems, it is a good friend of darkrai ex too.
It's a really versatile card that can enter in any deck.
But wtf $25 lol

Obviously I don't have any testing yet.
The main idea is to not just be inmune against EX and Plasma, but to special conditions with Virizion EX+Prism and a teched Latias EX to be inmune to pokemon with Abillities too.
I would like to include Darkrai EX or Keldeo EX to have infinite switch and choose as active the correct matchup to the defending pokemon, but I'm afraid to lose because catchers and OHKO lol

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

You want it to hit EXs with 120, right?
Why don't you just send a Suicune/Sigilyph and attack without receiving damage. You are risking prizes with Bouffalant.
And why Latias EX? the current threads in the meta with abillities are Deoxys EX, Blastoise, Keldeo EX, Garbordor, Darkrai EX, Snorlax, Genesect EX and Virizion EX, and most of them are countered by Suicune/Silver Mirror and Blastoise can be revenge killed with Terrakio NVI
I would change Latias EX for Darkrai EX to have 0 retreat on your attackers.

We need an abillity like this one, but at least in two or three stage 2 Pokemon.
If we only get one Pokemon with this abillity then everyone would play it, and it would be the same overcentralization of the meta.

It's true though, evolutions are, mechanically speaking, very unwieldy. They're slower, don't scale well, require general tomfoolery to get out reliably, force you to set up combos with other combos, arguably make you waste space in your deck, and on and on.

However, they're integral to the spirit of Pokemon. Removing them would simultaneously make under-evolved pokemon into beastly, irrationally powerful things or hilariously bad filler cards - instead of necessary steps toward victory.

They could always do something where one card is a single line, that "evolves" as you put more energy on it. That would be pretty silly, though.

What if, just what if, the basics and stage 1s actually had decent attacks and useful abilities? That would make evolution lines faster and more reliable to play and diversify the game, and they would make up for lack of deck space for trainers if they have search/draw power, energy acceleration or something similar.

Actually, the current evolving basics/stage 1 have roughly the same levels of HP and attacks as they had 8 years ago, and stage 2 have very small power creep compared to basics. That makes no fucking sense in this power creep. My Grovyle needs to have 130 HP, not the fucking Sceptile (that one needs at least 170 HP).

Actually, it should be very easy to design useful attackers of different stages. Just take any of the powerful basics as a benchmark, for example Kyurem PLF. Hammerhead is another thing that should be an obvious benchmark in design, but isn't. There's a basic can deal 30+30 for 1 energy, yet we get evolutions that only snipe 30 to 1 target for the same cost.

In some cases, Singapore has their prereleases early. I, unfortunately, am not sure that's the case for Plasma Blast.

Done it a bunch of times here to the UK, it's been fine getting here every time. Although I wouldn't anything of size from them again as shipping for it is a bitch, along with them weighing packs (or just weeding out and selling only the worthless remains of boxes) I now just stick to buying singles from them.

Although with that said if you order a bunch of them at a time they generally don't package them that well, luckily I've avoided any scratches so far.

Let's say my active has resistance to steel and an anergy attached.
If Espeons abillity is activated, the secondary effect of the attack Steel Bullet would be negated, and my Pokemon would just recieve 80 damage because resistance would apply. But I'm not sure if Solar Revelation is activated in this case or not.

There isn't a "stack" in Pokemon, it is pretty much "which effect takes priority over the other". For an easier example using Cobalion I will use Sigilyph from Dragons Exalted (since it comes with Safeguard)

Safeguard: Prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokémon by Pokémon-EX

When I use Cobalion EX's Steel Bullet, the damage would not be prevented by Safeguard as Steel Bullet's damage isn't affected by Safeguard, which is an effect on the Defending Pokemon.

1) Cobalion does damage and doesn't give a fuck about anything.

2) Espeon negates Steel Bullets secondary effect, making it a normal move and because of it, not hitting Suicune.
Espeons effect isn't protecting Suicune, it's just turning Steel Bullet into a normal move.

3) Solar Revelations says: "...done to each of your Pokémon" but Steel Bullets effect isn't targeting a pokemon, but the attack itself, and because of this Solar Revelation doesn't negate the secondary effect and the attack hits Suicune.

Which is more accurate? Which is right?

After doing some testing with ViriSect, I decided it's not worth it to be playing this game at all until we get at least EXBB's Spiritomb and hopefully some other counters.

For a BDIF, that deck is so fucking simple and linear yet effective it's ridiculous.

They tend to do that with the extra EXs we don't get (Such as Zapdos and Moltres) don't get your hopes up for reprinting trainers. Just the extra pokemon that are in those theme decks get scooped up in the set.

I'd play in tournaments if my country didn't only have them several hundred kilometers away. My local league is too small to have a proper tournament on its own and I doubt many people would travel here just to play Pokeymans unless we had like a Battle Road or a City.

DOTE is still by a large margin the best crossride/deck out there. I feel like others are starting to top just because we have new crossrides to try out from BT09. It's really hard to beat a restand with an additional Twin Drive for only CB2.

Then we have Descendant who restands with twin drive, +1 Critical when you guard his first attack in BT10.

also for those of you crying LINK JOKER IS BROKEN Descendant just wiped the floor with it at a recent Tokyo Regional and even fucking Revengers did better than teh jokerz. Also Set 10 and 11's release dates got swapped so Bushi is aware of Dragon Empire's cheese factor. Hopefully we'll get a limitation like japan did with time. Then again Eradicators are STILL winning even with said restrictions.

That's why I mentioned "rule of new" for Za Blood. I'm still not convinced that it's better than The End. MLB was expected. Kind of nice to see Duke up there.

Lock is not broken or anything and LJ seem pretty okay. Nebula Lord is silly when he can give the front row +6k for a cheap cost.

And BT11 coming before BT10 just means we get to do The End+Dauntless shenanigans two months sooner. Spinodrive+Dark Rex looks pretty fun, too.

Or you can go with Electric Sharper and Sweep Command if you don't like wasting cards

- Have 3 Shuki in back row
- Break Ride Sweep Command on Electric Sharper
- Put 1 Eradicator (hopefully in front row) into Soul and blow up someone in front and the back thanks to the Break Ride
- CB 2 and SB 2 to chain the effect and to the same thing to the other row
- 4 Rear Guards are gone and your Shukis boosts for 19K
- PROFIT
