Is it worth buying a Nintendo 3DS (XL is highly preferable) now or very soon or should I just wait and buy a bundle with Pokemon X and Y?

Also, where is the cheapest you can get one of these consoles within the UK?

Ideally I want a silver one or a black one.

I recommend buying a regular 3DS ASAP just because there are a dozen other great games already out right now. (Try going to a 3DS General on /vg/ to see if they can help you decide which one you want, where you can get them cheap, etc.)

Don't even both OP. X and Y are going to be a dissapointment just like every generation since 3. You might as well save your money. The 3DS is really expensive for just being a glorified DS. I mean really? Aside from the tops screen's "3D" gimmick it is bassically a DSi. And anyone who tries to rationalize that it's not is a Nintendo cum slurpper.

Bigger screen, stylus slot on the right side of the console (instead of the the back lel wtf? Much better for man sized hands.

GAME usually sells new best selling 3DS games (like Mario #1000 rehash edition) with the consoles, I don't see why Pokemon would be any different.

Thanks for your opinion man but I think playing my DS games on the bigger screen would be justification enough for my purchase. I love playing Gen I-III games on my big ass TV via Gamecube/Gameboy Player. There are other games besides Pokemon that I'd want to play too. The DSi was terrible.

I have two DS lites which I got for dirt cheap.

Some retard who was a friend of my little brother sold me his for £10 about three years ago.

The bigger screen just makes everything more pixelated. It's just stretched. The slot holding the stylus isn't as strong and it often slips out considering it where your hand is most of the time.

I was just joking about the Mario rehash thing dudes, the most recent Mario game I've played was New Super Mario brothers on my R4 card ages ago.

It was pretty fun for a while but I'd never 'buy' a Mario game so to speak. Same with Sanic, they're just boring.

The XL is like, 20£ over the regular one if I'm not mistaken and shits all over its predecessor in everything, so unless you have really tiny pockets I'd recommend getting the monster hunter 3 bundle like I did since the console is black.

If there aren't any games available now that spark your interest, just wait for the X&Y bundle. And if you want something cheap, check amazon and buy a used one, I was going to do that but the good offer ( and there were quite a few ) weren't shipping outside the UK.

I don't fucking play Mario, I was simply stating that the 3DS does come in bundles, usually with Mario games. Then some anon thought I was hating on Mario games, now all of a sudden I have shit taste for not hating Mario games?

It depends on how you hold it. The only discomfort I've ever had was with Kid Icarus, and that was less about the angled edges and more about having to put the weight of the device on one hand for extended periods of time (Thank god for that stand)
