Or would you just say "fuck it, it's not like I'm really gonna finish the Pokedex anyway, and it doesn't make my own guys more powerful; too much effort for not enough reward, not gonna trade".
No. Boosted EXP, trade evos, and version exclusivity are all meant to be incentives for trading. And that's a good thing, because it brings people together. People who love the game. It forces some degree of social interaction.
And Pokemon fans need to take what they can get on that score anyway.
