Okay /vp/, the truth is we will get Hoenn remakes if we can't transfer our mons from black/white 2 over to X and Y. That's why gen 3 got the red and blue remakes. All pokemon from gen 1 to 3 are obtainable in gen 3. So, the likely chance is that we will get Hoenn remakes or something else.

I would like to play a remake. Remakes always bring improvement. Since it will be in 3D, following pokemon will be more difficult to incorporate, since big pokemon will take up a large part of the screen. Also I'ld like to see the return of the pokewalker and the pokeathlon.
God do I want a remake.

It's going to happen after X and Y, or else they'll do "Z" first and then Hoenn.

And by Z I mean X2 and Y2

Full 3D is more of an inclination to buy them, that's probably their thought process

Another reason they weren't revealed for DS is because it's be silly to have a RSE cart up the jacksey of your original DS/DS Lite and the same game remade in the DS slot.

There is no reason that backwards compatibility won't be in it outside of a conscious design choice. It would be easy to implement on the hardware they have.

To be honest I don't see them making six main games in one generation. I think that's one of the reasons why they just made B/W 2 and skipped straight to Gen 6. So if they were going to make Gen 3 remakes this gen, then they would have to make a third version instead of two sequels.

There's nothing wrong with the hardware. It's the software they're having problems with. They can't get the Gen 5 data to work with the Gen 6 games.

What if, instead of having contests over the 4 cities like the original did, each city would have one of the side ventures of the later gens? One would have contests, one Pokeathlon, one Pokewood Studios, and one musicals.

This. They've already stated they're having a lot of problems getting the data to sync up. And that was a while ago. That's actually the same reason Gens II and III weren't compatible.

I'd really like to see any evidence of this, and I'd still be suspicious that it was just the PR excuse for a design choice. The amount of data any individual Pokemon represents on transfer is tiny, just a handful of values: EVs, IVs, Trainer ID, Personality Value, etc. That is all that's being transferred. If they're saying they are having trouble transferring that they are either lying or really, really bad at their jobs.

You got it backwards. Gen 3 didn't make every Pokemon available so that they had another selling point for remakes. It's just an extension of version exclusivity.

IF we can't transfer from gen 5, I would rather have piddly remakes of all four prior generations released on the 3DS store for $15 a piece with transfer capabilities to AND from XY (with limited or no 3d capabilities).
