Actually it'll probably just be "Researching Pokemon friendship bonds with trainers", which seems to be the entire point of Pokemon-Amie and probably some of the new evolution methods will be tied to how "friendly" they are to you. Not just pure friendship like Happiny, Pichu, etc, but how close you are.

That's actually a nice counterpart to the bad guys, who are just doing things for money. On one hand you've got friendship and the other you have greed.

Probably moved to Kalos after being a professor from Unova, the guy may have even had encounters with Colress on several occasions.

If he battles you and starts rambling about "Muh pokemon battling potentials" then you know he was at least aware of his existence.

The biggest problem with this is the rivers. The rivers in the south of Kalos are flowing north, out of the mountains and towards the ocean. The rivers going down Unova are flowing south, again towards the ocean.
