They will probably have an app made later on that can allow transfer if they're unable to make it work with the actual game.
That's why there hasn't been a 3rd gen remake.

Even if that's the case, you can by adjusting who your Kalos starter is. It's what I'm doing, I like all of the new starters so it's not really much of a issue for me to choose by that criteria.

Well, I used Venusaur back in RBY and I used Blastoise in LG.

But, I might consider using Fennekin this gen instead of Froakie. Haven't decided yet.
Froakie -> Charizard
Fennekin -> Neither of the Kanto starters

So far for Gen 6, I was originally behind Froakie for potential badass final evo. but after all the artwork of the female trainer and Fennekin, it just looks adorable.

So I have no idea. Makes me mad that Gen 5/6 Grass Starters all look retarded.

Snivy looked cool, then evolved into something stupid. Chespin just looks fucking stupid, maybe it'll evolve into something cool though idk.
