Hey guys, I haven't played Pokemon since Red/Blue, can somebody go into in-depth detail explaining everything that has happen since then?

Oh, and pic is related. Is Ash still in the anime? Did him and Misty ever end up getting together?

yeah he knocked Misty up. That's why they stopped traveling together because Misty had to go to a region where abortion was legal.

So play a gen 2 game then stop.
Pokémon ends with your final battle against Red in Mt. Silver.

Ash is still the protagonist. Misty left the show and appears very, very rarely in specials/flashbacks.

As far as the games, if you want to catch up, this is what you've missed in the main series:

Fire Red/Leaf Green (remakes of the original Red & Blue. Start here.)
Emerald (If you're going to play a gen 3 play Emerald.)
Soul Silver/ Heart Gold (remakes of Gold & Silver. )
Platinum (Gen 4)
Black or White (Gen 5)
Black 2 or White 2. (Stay with the same color.)
X and Y come out in October.

You've got six games to play before October. Get cracking.
