B. There would be no (or much, much less) potential for mass violence by way of Pokemon, so more people could be trusted with them. I imagine in the first scenario, if it played out realistically, people would wind up paranoid and afraid of dangerous trainers. Or, something like the Pokemon League or some such group would have to enforce strict laws on Pokemon use and ownership.
This is entirely speculation, though. Maybe by owning Pokemon, peoples' destructive urges would be naturally silenced or some shit? If that would be the case, choice A might be preferable.
The overwhelming potential for violence is the only thing keeping me from choosing A.

That depends, are people the way they are depicted in the Pokemon world? Or the way they are in reality?

If the former, I can go with A, Pokeworld humans seem to be more durable and have a lower incidence of latent dickery than real humans.

If not, B for obvious reasons of not trusting a world where people shoot random strangers because they hate life with super-powered animal familiars.
