Any instance of "funny face" transformed Ditto in games; some that come to mind are the Bulbasaur Dittos in Pokemon Snap and the Clefairy Ditto in the Sinnoh Game Corner. It's interesting to see how an anime gag eventually made its way into multiple canons, including the main franchise games.
