As a gym leader, what do you think his type is? His design is screaming "steel", but his name says something different. "Citron" and "Clemont" both sound like fruit. Citron sounds like citrus, Clemont sounds like clementine (a type of orange), and also has lemon in it. Maybe his robot arm things are for picking fruit, and he's actually a grass-type?

However, citron is also a famous auto manufacturing company in France, bringing it back around to steel.
