Yeah it does, and they're often virus filled.

Back in January, their adverts were infected by a virus, but they insisted it was fine and told people to ignore the block Google and the browsers imposed

Yeah, but think of it like this. Bulbapedia is a very popular site. Top of most google searches thanks to it being a wiki. It gets a lot of the casual visitors and they see the six adverts and Bulbagarden's corporate overlords get a shitload of cash from user content.

I have edited a fair bit of stuff onto Bulbapedia and I am disgusted by this

Their server costs cannot be that big. In the thread about their buyout last week, someone calculated that they earn $2m a year from their adverts. It's extremely unlikely that server costs would be $1.3m.

It'd be like $120k at most

It's a pretty big site with lots of articles and a big userbase though.

Servers are pretty expensive so I really wouldn't be surprised if they are higher than 1m.
