I really fail to understand why "edgy" is being thrown around /vp/ like the most horrendous insult imaginable.

I mean, in large volumes, grimdarkedgy will attract all the wrong kind of fans, and reeks of the designers being the worst kind of people... but it's fucking pokemon we're talking about.

A few "dark" (lol) designs to add variety reallllly isn't a bad thing, but i see it being thrown around like a child who learned a new word, and hasn't really thought about any sort of context it may have, but has hopelessly latched onto it as a "bad thing" because this one time it was a bad thing, so it's obviously a bad thing.
