How does /vp/ feel about this? Fennekin is the most popular choice for both first and third place, making it the most controversial choice. Chespin is solidly a #1/#2 pick for most, making it probably the most popular overall, and Froakie is mainly in 2nd and 3rd place.

Why should I care about the collective opinion of others. I'm choosing Fennekin if it's got those proportions fixed in its later evos and still looks relatively cool. If not then I'll probably go with Froakie because that type has potential. I'm not using Chespin solely for the fact that pretty much everything in the game is going to one-shot it because of all of those weaknesses.

I'm OP and I'll be choosing Fennekin too. I just thought the results of this poll were interesting, since from what I've seen the Froakie fanbase is the most vocal but poll says it's also the smallest. I can understand why Fennekin is either #1 or #3 since most people either love or despise it.

WPM stated that the types of the three starters' final evos will be Grass/Dark, Fire/Psychic, and Water/Fighting

In that same leak he stated that there would be a new way of battling that only Flying types and Pokemon with Levitate could participate in. Since that has been confirmed to be true, we're to assume the rest will be too.

Froakiefags get butthurt when either of the others get mentioned and spam the thread with Froakie to make it seem like he's the unanimous favourite.

Not all of the moves a Pokemon learns have to be useful. They have to be meaningful though in that it should fit the Pokemon perfectly.

Houndour and Elektrike both get Howl and they both focus more on special attack. They get Howl because of the animals they're based on, not their stats.
