That depends. If you use an in-game team, it may be pretty fun and challenging.

...with my actual VGC team, I stomped it without even having to think. It was still cool, the music made it worth it, though having to battle the thing 10 times to unlock the champions tournament was kinda tedious.

It's okay. Personally it felt to me more like a gauntlet of trainers who use a specific type of Pokemon to fight you. It just doesn't feel like I'm fighting the gym leaders when they just give them 4-1 Pokemon to complete their team and makes everything automatically level 50.

That menu stuff regarding potions and repels etc better not go away, that saves so much time when out in the field.

Gen 3 had secret bases in the overworld. I have no idea of what they were like in gen 4 but I always heard they're shit compared to 3's ones

From what I know the gen 3 bases had more variation in size and shape (and were generally much bigger) but gen 4 had a much better range of items and the whole trap system underground.

Either way I wouldn't call those one-gen-wonder features since they showed up in more than one generation.

You can put your most commonly used items in that slot so you can access it easily w/o scrolling though a bunch of stuff you don't care about. Right now I have stuff like Lucky Egg, the Power items and Macho Brace in there.

I breed a lot, so having those options (especially how you can move groups of pokemon to any box immediately) is really helpful.

I know it's too soon, but if it turns out to be good as it seems (although proabably gimmickly), I hope Pokèmon-Amie becomes a stable. After all they seem to have put so much effort into it, all those 3d models... (yeah I know they made the 3d dex before that and that they'll probably kinda suck except for pikachu)

Seeing as they gave it a pun name that only relates to a game inspired by France ("mon amie" is French for "my friend" in case you didn't take French at school) then it's a good bet this is a one game only gimick.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was downloaded for a few pounds from the nintendo shop in adition to the game, like Dream Radar.

Maybe that's just how that thing is called in those games. The Bond mechanics will probably stay, since Eevee needs it to evolve into sylveon.

Either that, or they'll change it to something else like Feebas.

Pokemonamie hasn't been confirmed in any way to be related to Sylveon evolving though, not even the leakers have said that.

It probably evolves if you level it up near a fairy rock or something like how glaceon ond leafeon evolve for all we know.

Every Eveelution has required the most outlandish methods available in its generation.
Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon required stones
Espeon and Umbreon required both frienship and day or night
Glaceon and Leafeon required being at a specific place.
So I guess Sylveon will have something to do with the 3DS itself, like Malimar.

It can't be a moon stone. When they add evolutions to pokemon from previous generations, they add something that wasn't in the generation before, so people can't go "why couldn't I evolve my Eevee into Sylveon in gen 1? I have a moon stone!"

Actually in Gen 1 he says there are 150 pokemon, despite there being 151, and in the reboots he makes no such numerical claim.

The prequils theory is based on evidence and logic. Oak being the inventor of the pokedex, Fossil regeneration apparently being invented in XY and flares being primitive versions of rockets.

The case is hardly water tight as it is just a theory but short of oak waking up and the last 5 generations of pokemon turning out to have been a dream he was having there is no other way to reconcile fossil regeneration being invented in XY and Trevor being the inventor of the pokedex with the previous 5 gens other than XY being prequels.
