There's a house in between Snowpoint and Mt Coronet in the snow. Outside there's HM Rock Climb. Take it inside and the hiker there lets you have it. Candice's badge lets you use Rock Climb out of battle. Then you go to Lake Acuity just outside Snowpoint. Then I think you go to do the Veilstone Galactic building.

Because I wanted to introduce my friend to the series with him playing Pearl, and me playing Diamond. I was going to choose SS and HG instead but I just lost SS.

Here's the general rundown.

>get 6th badge
>go to Canalave library
>lake explodes
>go to Lake Valor and beat Team Galactic
>go to Lake Verity and beat Team Galactic
>go to Snowpoint City and get 7th badge
>go to Lake Acuity and speak to your rival
>go to Veilstone City and talk to the grunt out front
>go into their hideout through the warehouse

You probably forgot to go to one of the other lakes.
