If you wanted to make bug weak to ice that would mean that any Pokemon based off an animal should be weak to ice, making Normal pretty much weak to ice.

You could say that a bunch of water types are fish and not actual water, and you can cook fish with fire, so fire should SE water, but that logic is retarded and you know it.

Because most pokemon are venomous, and venom is entirely different from poison. Pollution is as much poison as venom is, so are you saying that pokemon that inject their toxins should not be considered poison type?

Aren't the majority of poison moves things that are pollutants? I mean, acid can be one, and all of those that the other guys mentioned. A damn good amount of Poison is dedicated to pollution, so at the very least it seems to be both pollution and venom.

Pollutants don't damage water though. They simply pollute them. That is to say, they spread easily and make the substance they're polluting, in this case water, harmful to absorb. Only in high enough concentrations though. If you drop a little bit of a toxic substance into a lake, the whole lake isn't permanently ruined. Because there is so much water, the concentration of the substance is negligible. So with enough water, the effects of the pollutant can be nullified.
