Yeah in some aspects those games are broken to shit but how often will you run into many of the situations described?

How often will you run into fast pokemon who can crit you to death? How often will you run into freezing being an instant KO in all but name? How often will you run into stat ups being pretty much permanent because you can't force a switch? Waking up from sleep using your whole turn so that you can be put right back to sleep while doing nothing in the meantime other than maybe switch out? Blizzard being close to perfectly accurate? The special stat? Pretty often.

Ingame and in games like Stadium? Not too often from what I know.

One out of ten times for two or so moves.
