>>13066532I don't think it's just Kanto or the Pokemon League in general. The anime has shown that there are different Gym badges and different Contest Ribbons so who knows how many of them there are.
Not totally solid on the contests but I think (in the anime) that there's a Gym for all 17 types (even before the Johto games) in every region. That Otoshi with the Marowak had different badges as well as others like Cameron.
