BW sold more than RS (15.42 > 15.38), and BW2 with over 7.32 million copies sold more than Emerald wth 6.38 copies

Gen 5 sold more than 3

Not that it matters anyway. A lot of people on /vp/ seem to think some of those nubers are borderlines flops but the fact is, every single Pokémon game was a hit. Even the lowest selling ones have numbers that would make most companies be downright jealous.

For example, every paired version of Pokémon sold more than Diablo III

Analysis:
1 got the hype and 4 got shit tons of games, this certainly explains their ranking. Gen 3 seems like the equilibrium where people didn't start to be nostalgiafags but still beneficies of the leftovers of pokemon hype. Gen 5 suffered on their B2/W2 sales, probably because most people were used to "enhanced versions" like Yellow/Crystal/Emerald/Platinum and expected the same stuff as BW.

Notice that the sales go up each time a pokemon is made on a new console. I would assume pokemon XY will once again rise the sales.
