Kidding. Really, there's nothing you can't figure out on your own if you're just playing casually. It's geared towards kids, so the basics are easy to understand. (Plus, not too much has changed from Gen 1 that'll really give you any trouble). If you're confused, go to Google. Not 4chan.

you don't really have to worry about EVS or IVS unless you want to play competitively

otherwise you'll find the games have, thankfully, never deviated too much from their winning formula

if you are familiar with gen 1 all the other gens are the same basic idea but with new pokemon and a few added features which just make things less boring. (pokemon can hold items and there are some new types to balance things out)
