>>13077495Interestingly, you can link many 'alien encounters' and sightings with the folklore of fairies and goblins. Diminutive strange creatures with otherworldly powers that play 'tricks' on human beings and are incredibly elusive.
A 'famous' alien sighting, the Hopkinsville Goblin, was the inspiration for Sableye as well as Them in Majora's Mask (the alien monsters attacking Romani Ranch). They were debunked as owls. However, I do not want Sableye retyped.
You can choose to see the correlation as either a continued superstitious belief that adapted to the decline of belief in magic and increase in acceptance of science fiction, the idea that those 'fairy' sightings were misinterpreted alien sightings, or the inverse, that aliens today are just fairies (I wouldn't go with the latter two).
In short, I agree that Elgyem and Beeheyem could be retyped as Fairy (and given anything to make them better), but I don't want Sableye made into a Fairy.
As for Umbreon, I'm merely invalidating the idea that Azumarill has 'fairy' backstory by linking it to the 'moon rabbit', as Umbreon is as well and isn't being retyped as a Fairy.
