Then Talonflame was revealed as "an evolution" of Fletchling, not "the evolution", and it is closer in size to Staraptor and Unfezant than to Swellow. Noctowl is bigger but so was Hoothoot. It's better for him because evolving in the 30s instead of the 20s means a higher stat total.
