Yep, I'm noticing that. I think they're doing a good job so far. It's a lot better than the transition from RSE to DP, though Platinum solved a lot of the speed problems.

Why do video game companies think the the graphics must ALWAYS be "improved", no matter what? 5th gen graphics were excellent, balancing the 3D and 2D elements just fine, and had beautiful layouts. These new 3D graphics are ugly and totally kill the classic atmosphere of a pokemon main game.

That's been like that for generations. The base underneath is determined by where the Pokemon was found. Fishing retrieves Pokemon from the ocean, hence a water base. Inkay was in a grass patch, hence grass.

This is the most asinine post I've seen all day. The DS is a 9 year old system. There's no way generation six would start off on a sinking ship. And with 9 games already on the DS that all look the same, the series was getting awfully stale. Pokemon NEEDED a graphical overhaul. I bet you're just mad you can't aford a 3DS.
