If you like character-driven animu-inspired JRPGs, go with the Persona Games.
If you like dungeon crawlers in the Etreian Odyssey vein, you could track down Strange Journey or try SMT4 for 3DS.
If you like Strategy RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem, and always wanted to see what Evangelion would be like if Shinji wasn't a faggot, you could try the Devil Survivor games.
They all share a lot of gameplay elements, such as collecting and fusing demons, a 2 axis alignment system, and the spells used. They also share many story elements (Or at least most of them do) and usually take place in a modern, near-past, or near-futuristic setting, usually having to deal with either the incoming apocalypse, or the apocalypse that already happened and you have to clean up the mess.
