/vp/, I have a question.

Would fire-type pokemon be able to swim in water without dying?

There have been instances where fire-types were exposed to water without dying, such as;
- In the Hoenn games, one could use fire types while under the sea (but that could just be gameplay/lore segregation)
- using fresh water to restore a fire-type's health
- IIRC, there was an episode in the diamond/pearl anime where chimchar bathed in a spa or something

And then there's pokemon like Rhydon who can learn surf, but are twice as weak to water than someone like Charmander (which apprently die as soon as their tail's flame goes out).

Could it be that water-type attacks =/= regular water?
