isn't it weird that, in a trailer specifically made to show that fairy is an attempt to balance dragons they never showed a fairy getting hit by a dragon move and no mention of it's defensive properties?

Except Arceus still can hold as a counter to it, not to mention Xerneas will be in Ubers only.

And speaking of, thanks to Fairy Arceus and Xerneas, the dragons from Ubers could be moved down to OU now. So in other words, Fairy actually helped Dragon-types.

NO they couldn't, they're way too powerful for OU. Just because they're shit in ubers doesn't necessarily mean they'll drop. Otherwise I'd have Ho-oH instead of volcarona on my sun team.

They'll probably resist Dragon type moves, but they'll be probably weak to Fire or Fighting (that are already strong against steel, so any OU Dragon has those kind of moves)

Yeah, only difference will be fairy STAB and many more options to resist Outrage.

So at the end Dragons will be nerfed, since you won't be able to spam Outrage once the only Steel in opponent's team is dead, because there are going to be Fairy types too.

This will probably balance the metagame.

But still... Fucking Drizzle+Swift Swim and rain teams in general will have to be banned by users...

Fairy is rummored to be ressisted by steel and fire.
If charizard gets retyped or at least gets a new forme that gives it dragon typing it would be a beast again.

Fairy being immune to dragon doesn't solve anything. Most dragons are so dominant in terms of stats or movepool that they'll find a way around it anyway. The best way for Fairy typed pokemon as opposed to Fairy type moves to be viable is if they collectively have high Speed and decent resistances. Ice is a god tier offensive type but those weaknesses are the reason that only Weavile and Cloyster are any good.

That's enough to nerf dragons, since the two Dragon resists can't be dispatched by the same means and dragons won't be able to run enough coverage for all of them it stops them from just running fire blast + earthquake and murdering steels despite the resist. If fairy is weak to fighting or ground then it's just a shitty version of steel and changes nothing.
