1. Buy the game with the pre-order card. So, you're -$40 now, but you have the $5 gift card. Ask the lady if you can keep the "collector's" pre-order card.
2. Return the game, you get to keep the $5 gift card. You're now almost breaking even, technically you haven't spent any money and you now have a $5 gift card. However, they won't give you back the $1 you spent on the pre-order card. So you're -$1, but you still have the pre-order "collector's" card.
3. Go back, and pay the copy of X/Y. Use the Target gift card, and the pre-order card, and get the game, PLUS another free $5 Target card!
4. Repeat until game is paid off, or profit is made.
