They're saying they love pokemon, yet hate everything past the first 3 games. That's not loving pokemon and being a huge fan, that's liking one game. Same as people who say they're a fan of a band but only listen to one of their songs.

This is what really gets me. They'll say they're huge fans of the series, and yet the only pokemon they actually know is pikachu, charizard, and basically nothing else. Ask them about any pokemon not owned by a main character in the anime, and they won't know what the fuck you're talking about.
