You know what this means right? They are remaking the plot of the series. Flare isn't related to Team Rocket, they are Team Rocket's replacement. The first two gens...never happened. Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos are the only Pokemon regions.

Let them. There wasn't much of value that existed in Kanto and Johto other than Mewtwo and Gyarados. Cutting those regions out of Pokémon entirely helps focus the creative direction better under Masuda's glorious leadership, and render the dark Tajiri era less than a memory.

And as for Ash not remembering Mewtwo... then why don't we just place the sequel (which was a TV movie anyway) "Mewtwo Returns" as non-canon? No value is lost there.

Though I do agree with you in some aspects, Ash scanning certain Pokémon he's seen before is just him recording them in the Pokédex like you're supposed to do in the games (excluding the seen/caught difference). Technically, he has said "Hey, it's a _____!" before scanning them sometimes. You also have to remember that for the children who have never seen that Pokémon before, it's exposition.

Why do people enjoy adding crackpot theories to the anime? It's MEANT for kids, and granted the games are as well, but the anime way more so. The reason pokemon say their names is so the little retards will know which is which, and Ash being a fool along with half the retardedness happening on the show simply boils down to the fact that they need to do it for the kiddies so they don't get too confused, and so new ones have an easy jumping on point a la the repeated pokedex entries. The anime doesn't care about a bunch of neck beards on a image board get over it

Ash scans a vanillish in the heartbreaker Charles episode and 22 episodes later in the Brycen gym battle, so he doesn't scan pokemon to fill his dex

In "The Fires of a Red-Hot Reunion" Ash scans a Charmander and then spends 10 minutes having a flashback to his own Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard, so obviously he doesn't scan Pokemon because he doesn't know them

This can only mean that Ash is aware of what is happening around him. He is in the 5th wall. He knows there is no 4th wall, but doesn't want to act the illusion for the children and thus acts accordingly, always providing old info for new kids. Being the service the viewer needs.

First off, we all now know that Kanto "male" Mewtwo and Kalos "Female"Mewtwo are 2 different Pokemon. With the statement that the Pokemon company issued, this is applied to ALL Pokemon mediums

The anime will explain it in its own way

The games will explain it in its own way

The manga will explain it in its own way

People often make the mistake of mixing canons when they forget they merely share coincidences yet diverge into separate matters

The issue that's stopping any of us making consistent theories is Team flares motive and structure of operations. Without knowing that, we are just guessing out of our asses

Ever since the major update to how story is told in black and white, anything can fucking happen; since we haven't seen story play a strong role in this since ever.

Kalos Mewtwo may have been created by Team Plasma/or an operative from there like colress

Or by Team Flare

Or an ex-TR member, or someone else entirely

All we know is that there are 2 mewtwos. For us to speculate correctly, we all need to file our ideas and make them consistent with one another and contrast them from others that contradict it and belong in a separate bubble

But /vp/ is too lazy for that

I think team flare is the rebuilt Team rocket after you destroy it in Red/silver. That would make sense because its a mewtwo plot and they want money-> funds to restructure the splintered group.

This is accepted as fact by the Japanese audience in all mediums, including games. However one thing they tell people not to mistake for is flat out intercross canons. It's implied in the game they all know, but we don't know how. That's how they like it to leave it at that

Also XY will be after BW2, they communicate through holograms and the pokédex also uses holograms. They didn't have that technology before.
