Why does Flareon get all the hate?

>Only physical STAB move until level 71 is Razor Leaf which I have to get from a move relearner
Seriously, why hasn't anybody told me before that it's nearly impossible to use Leafeon in-game due to its horrible learnset? At least Flareon has a useful 95 base special attack while Leafeon is just plain horrible. I'm very disappointed since I like Leafeon's design and haven't used an eeveelution in my team since the days of R/B/Y.
