Bulbasaur - Dinosaur
Chikorita - Dinosaur
Treecko - Gecko
Turtwig - Turtle
Snivy - Snake
Chespin - Gopher
Only two of them are based on dinosaurs and Grass starters WOULD be based off of reptiles except Chespin came in and ruined the fun.

No, you have a habit of looking for patterns that don't exist. When Pokemon was released they didn't even know if it would be popular enough to get a sequel. When G/S/C were released they were intended to be the last Pokemon games. Yet I'm supposed to believe that in spite of that there's some kind of running theme with the fire starters spanning years with the chinese zodiac that is out of order and according to the original plan would have ended with only 2 entries that you yourself admit don't really fit the zodiac. Fucking retarded.
