I understand that it is super annoying to fight anything that has used Double team

But didn't game freak make enough moves that never miss to compensate for this?

Is double team only banned because noobs at smogon are too butthurt to incorporate these moves into all of there premade movesets?

killing a bulky pokemon with double team + recovery move would be almost impossible with 60 base power moves, only expection is Aura Sphere and very few mons get it

Not every Pokemon can learn a move that never misses.

Plus, moves that never miss are kinda weak.

The never miss moves are all pretty weak (except Aurasphere which has low distribution). Meanwhile every Pokemon and their mom can learn Double Team. If a bulky Pokemon gets double team and a recovery move, it's nearly impossible to kill (considering phazing moves miss and haze has pretty poor distribution too).

It's even worst when a Pokemon has great defenses to begin with, like Gliscor, Shuckle, Cresselia and Chansey (who can learn Minimize).

Swoobat also has a psuedo-Minimize in the form of Double Team + Simple, and can take advantage of the evasion boosts with Stored Power.

A lot of those abilities and moves either don't work against Sand Veil, Snow Cloak or Brightpowder, are incredibly weak, or stop working after enough evasion boosts.

It's about Double Team though. If you're worried about Sand Veil/Snow Cloak, change the weather. Brightpowder can be stopped with Trick/Switcheroo/Knock Off.

I can understand banning Double Team & Evasion in general but I don't understand why they had to ban OHKO moves? It's a risk the user is willing to take when using such a move because they have such a low accuracy.

Unless you used Lock-On or Mind Reader beforehand, or the opponent has No Guard, or Gravity is in effect, or you use Hone Claws, Acupressure or Coil beforehand.

double team overcentalizes the OU metagame. It makes things too luck based, every "counter" for it has a low chance of pulling through and working, and it causes matches to be an unnatural amount of turns

If you want to use double team, play ubers. Nothing is banned there

You have to have a pokemon that:

Just because there are things that address it doesn't mean it's not OP. Every mon that can learn TM's can learn double team.
