>>13157694Holy shit fuck you so hard OP, yes I'm mad.
I've never done a nuzlocke and I never plan to. I wasn't aware that there were rules about how you're not a a true fan if you don't torture yourself by playing the game in a way that was NEVER EVEN INTENDED.
Saying you're not a true Pokemon fan if you've never nuzlocked is like saying you're not a true Cawadooty fan if you've never gone knife-only with no killstreaks, it's a typical elitist mentality about being a special snowflake by inventing what you perceive as a "hardcore" playstyle, even though it makes no sense and there is nothing official about it. If that shit makes you angry, it's your problem.
I'm not saying there ISN'T a divide between real fans and casuals, but the line is not drawn at the nuzlocke bullshit. To me a real fan is someone who has played and completed every game since R/B/Y at least more than once--but it doesn't matter HOW they complete it, as long as they're not actually cheating with a Gameshark or Action Replay. It doesn't matter what Pokemon you use--shit I use legendaries plenty of times, and I don't give a fuck.
I think a casual is someone who just jumped on the bandwagon and doesn't truly care about the series as a whole, and only has an extremely basic understanding of the games--however, some people's idea of "basic understanding" is different. Ex: I can remember the names/designs of every Pokemon from gen 1-4, and I know where to catch pretty much everything in gens 1-3, but I know nothing--nor do I CARE about stuff like EVs and IVs, I hate grinding just to get a good Pokemon, I just enjoy having a balanced team with Pokemon I actually like and that are good enough to get through the game in a normal way.
To me what makes Pokemon great is the replayability with how you can have a completely different team every time you play any of the games, otherwise the linear, simple story would get really boring.
And that's it.
tl;dr: OP is a massive, raging faggot.
