Is there a way to edit the rom so that crits deal normal damage?

Also to make it so you have the outside of battle effecs of HMs at all times rather than needing to spend a moveslot of a subpar move?

The randomizer isn't working and neither is the command line to run it. Windows apparently thinks I am misspelling Java. I have Java fully up to date and installed, for sure, and I have all the files I need in working order. What's up?

Lately I've been using a randomizer on Emerald and Leaf Green roms. Let's me use pokemon I've never used because they suddenly become viable with new movesets.

Arrive at the Weather Institute and gonny train before taking on Team Aqua.
Caught Shonen the Skiploom on route 118 who knew splash and synthesis.

My Black 2 Nuzlocke is going to be pretty intense. The same rules as a standard Nuzlocke, except for some minor details.

1.) No items during battle unless it is a held item.
2.) Can not catch duplicates unless the original dies.
3.) My Pokemon can't be a higher level than the gym leader's strongest Pokemon.
4.) My battle style is on Set.

Hopefully this turns out to be a good Nuzlocke. I have already caught 4 Pokemon thus far and will be challenging the gym as soon as possible.

Are you me? got similar rules in my White nuzlocke except i'm allowed to use the same amount of healing items my opponent has used. Currently running around with herdier, pidove, tepig and purrloin.
Already lost 1 lillipup and pansage to unlucky crits.

I have Tepig and Purrloin as well. Unfortunately that's where the similarities end. I have Patrat and Azurill as my final two.

And that's a cool rule too, but I feel it's weird to use items during battle so I chose not to do so.

My first nuzlocke almost ended

Lost Fairyman to Wattson's Voltorb selfdestruct (my bad)

Lost 4 other members of my team from Wattson's Manetric (crit on Stark, others were sacrificed for heals)

Fucking bro Ken managed to stall Manetric (which 2KOs with Shock Wave) for 20 turns with superpotions/fresh waters without taking a crit, saved my game!

I guess grinding time starts again, next time I better have fucking counters for the gyms

G-guys. I have a confession.

Nuzlockes might have had the opposite effect on me than they were supposed to. Instead of valuing all my pokebros individually, I sometimes feel some are more important than others, and would be willing to sacrifice one to save another. I also carry some meatshields that aren't part of my team just in case. Instead of my teams being a surprise and random, I find myself looking forward and ahead to see which pokes I want, and in my last nuzlocke, all of my pokes were the "good" ones.

I do find myself using pokemon I've never tried before though. That's good.

Some more confessions:

My very first run ended when my rival beat me in the tutorial battle because I didn't use a potion and he got a crit. I also lost to Brock the first time I challenged him, but I just reset when I lost and pretended that never happened. I restarted when I didn't catch a Staryu. I did that twice of thrice to get a Staryu that I wanted. I checked its IVs later and it had 0spA and illuminate as its ability. I felt guilty so I boxed it and never touched it. Sometimes, when I want a specific pokemon in an area, I use repels to get to where it appears and then I try to find it. I swept through a few gyms and the E4 in my last run with X items; I'll try not to use X items this time. Learning about natures and EVs has detracted from the fun of training, and makes me more worried about training. I EV trained two special sweepers in my last nuzlocke, but for super bros like my starter, I just don't look at their IVs or natures or care about EVs. I find myself looking and planning ahead way more than I should and that also detracts from the enjoyment of a "blind" run that emphasizes experience.

I should probably space these apart to be easier read.

yep, rest of the rules still apply, only one per route etc...
finding it very fun, I get to use pretty much every pokemon in my team, so I've never been more involved.
Also a loss hits twice as hard, since you're not just losing a pokemon but the entire type.

Wattson is evei if you don't have a ground type with you.

If you are able to, Hariyama does very well against it.

Vital Throw should OHKO everything there, but I believe 3 Arm Thrusts slaps up the Magneton and Magnemite.

I'm playing Black2 and I want to get a razor fang for my Gligar. I can just use rentals but it would go much faster if I could use my bros. However, I'm unsure as to whether or not it would count as a "loss" in PWT since the battles are autoleveled and aren't really real. PWT is more like a sport, and is similar to if you "spar" your friends doing rival nuzlockes on wi-fi.

Tate and Liza: Lost 3 pokes because I wasn't expecting hypnosis. Not bad though.
Juan: Swept with lvl 50 DDGyarados
Sidney: Swept with lvl 53 DDGyarados
Phoebe: Tough match but beat her
Glacia: Swept with lvl 55 DDGyarados
Drake: Swept with DDGyarados
Wallace: Lead off with choiced metagross vs my DDGyarados. I healed his rock slide until he ran out of pp. Set up DD while he struggled and I swept his team.

Verdict: Gyarados and Alakazam are fucking overpowered but otherwise decent difficulty. Could definitely make some tweaks but gj.

I've always played with a modified set of rules:
-You must catch one of every Pokemon the first time you encounter it (stock up on balls)
-The first 5 you catch are your party
-You may not catch duplicates or evolutions of a Pokemon you've already caught
-Any Pokemon that is caught after you have a full party is permanently relegated to the PC

Let me demonstrate how easy it is:

>3.8 x 2 = 7.6

Your weakest Pokemon has to be level 30 at the lowest if your strongest is 38.

The level restriction is to stop you from powering your way through

These 2 prevent you from building a properly balanced party. The idea is to overcome the odds through playing well with what you have rather than powering through with type advantages and stabs.

This rule exists to make it so the better you play, and thereby the longer you keep your Pokemon alive, the more Pokemon you miss out on. I find it's a good balancing mechanic for players of all skill levels.

Just wrecked Flannery's asshole with Roxie's Magnitude 9 three times in a row. Ok got it randomized, pokemon, abilities, stationary and TM's.

Starters were Sandile, Solosis and Duskull of which I picked Sandile, caught a Purrloin on route 1, ability Defeatist, into the box, then caught a Noctowl with Arena Trap.

Thank you kind sir, i must have skipped over that last night.

Anyway here's mine so far. I decided to do a black 2 randomizer nuzlocke with a friend, with random pokemon, abilities and random trainer pokemon. No items except hold items are allowed to be used and species clause is not in effect.

Having a pretty successful Crystal Enhanced run so far. Charizard, Feraligatr, Pikachu, and Mew came out of the egg again instead of a fucking Chinchou. Still haven't fought Whitney but, soon.
