Blaine shut the door to his room, a rather large spacious area carved out of the jagged rock caverns of the Seafoam isles. He meandered over to his overstuffed armchair, sinking deeply into it, giving a heavy sigh. Maybe opening this Gym was a bad idea, he thought to himself. In addition to being the antipenultimate gym in the Indigo league, he was also forced to choose this remote location when Cinnabar decided to erupt all those years ago. As a result, his gym was getting nearly no traffic whatsoever, and his trainers were getting restless. The Indigo league was also on his back to cut spending. He'd seen gyms sink faster for less.
As he sipped on a glass of scotch, he couldn't help but remember the whole fiasco reminded him of that time, when another group had attempted to cut his spending, and he had to turn to... a questionable benefactor. "Gio... what would you think if you saw me now. I doubt you'd extend the same kindness when you have nothing to gain from it..."
He removed his ubiquitous sunglasses, his pale blue eyes heavy with the signs of age. "Perhaps it's best if I just retire."
"Retire? Without paying for what you've done?" a voice echoed throughout the chamber. Blaine shot up nervously. "W-who's there." He scanned the chamber until his eyes fixed on... something... a shadowy corner, but he couldn't quite make it out. Slowly he raised his glasses back to his face, the blurred figure becoming sharper. "Y-you..."
Blaine hit the cave wall hard, his glass of scotch shattering across the floor. He weakly rose to his feet, his old bones protesting every movement. "So... you have come..." The other form stood silent, it's rage permiating the room in a sadistic lull.
"I can't turn back time..."
"And we can't forgive you"
As the next attack came, and Blaine slipped into unconsciousness, he managed to utter the words, "I wouldn't expect you too..."
Gio... he thought... be careful... our sins have come back to haunt us...
