I very highly hope it has some limitations or some sort of factor that differentiates itself from a normal battle aside from the obvious Flying and Levitate-ing Pokemon being the only ones available for the specific battle. Possibly a special reward or ways to manually dodge? What do you guys think?

Flying battle is just like water battle, aka battle that can occur when you use a pokemon to travel. Fly in this case.
I'm already certain there will be some pokes that can only be encountered like that that. spamming fly and hope you encounter the fucker.

if there's a battle specific for flying/levitating pokes, doesn't it make sense to have a battle for only pokemon that can swim, and only pokes that can burrow?

On the subject of dive, how the hell will it work if you're on land?? In Mistery Dungeon Dive doesn't work in normal terrain (vice-versa with Dig).

It's probably because I've been playing fate/extra lately, but I think it would be nice gimmick for sky battles if you gave the commands before the pokemon fly to the sky, like 3 or 4 moves for it to use while flying and then it came down for new commands

I don't think the games really give a shit, I've never used Dive but I know you can use Dig when you face pokémon while surfing.
