With Gen IV as the "base" to follow, only thing removed was the superfluous follower Pokemon.
People would say rematches were gone, but I'd say they were replaced by the far better Nimbasa Coliseum / Court and Tree House. Frontier was replaced with Subway.
Now I can see them PWT not returning because Clay owns it, but hopefully they put a good replacement.
