Tier Shift is just like OU, you can use your OU team without problems, it just that the non-ou pokemons will be more usable, meaning you wont see the same 6 mons in every team.

I've been using Mandibuzz and it's one of the best physical walls out there. Takes less than half damage from most everything. The set I use is impish with Knock Off/Foul Play/Roost/Taunt @leftovers
Also, blood totem wrecks unprepared teams.

So this is my TS team so far. It's gotten me into the upper 1600s, but nothing much higher. It's basic premise is stalling the opponent and then cleaning up with foul play or Sigilyph. I'm actually kind of weak to Shedinja and I think having a fire type in general might be more useful, but I can't really think of what to replace something with.

i could say shedinja, the 15 bonus in hp really help, but since many pokemon rise to counter him, nothing really, for every pokemon there are at least 7 counters

Gardy is pretty good. The most common set I've seen is a trick scarf set that does pretty well. It kinda hits a brick wall on either waters or dark types and gets shit on by spiritomb, though. Fortunately, I haven't seen one yet.

Ludicolo is a great counter to rain teams. It's kinda not that great if rain isn't up, though. That said, you could run it on a rain team of your own, a bit like stallrein. Something like

Leech Seed/Toxic
Substitute
Protect
with leftovers and rain dish
Might be worth trying

Why doesn't Smogon just ask to use the stats/reworks that Drayno does in his hacks (which are undoubtedly some of the most popular ones around) and turn that into a metagame?

He's done wonders with each and every 'mon and it might provide a similar effect to what this metagame described in OP is trying to do.

This isn't exactly new, did people only just find out about it? I never tried it myself since I didn't really like the idea of editing mons stats just to make them 'viable', I personally prefer to just play the pokemon I like in their respective tiers.

Don't normally metagame. Trying to build a team around specs sweeper Typhlosion. So far I have Scyther scout lead, subseeder tropius, and defensive spinner starmie backing him up, since they're some of my favorite pokes.

Having trouble picking out the last two to fill out the team though. Maybe a Muk to absorb toxic spikes or somethin'

You might want an antispinner that can keep up the offensive pressure. I also think you might be a little curselax weak and scrafty gives everything a bad time. You could also maybe stand to have a secondary spinner if you're building around (what I presume to be) eruption Typhlosion. I'd suggest just off the top of my head Hitmontop and Rotom. Maybe also carry something with sunny day to get rid of the omnipresent TTar? Sorry if this isn't too helpful, this is just off the top of my head.

Sounds like the bottom half of OU will be obsoleted, as their strength was never stats but niche counters to the top half of OU (i.e. the weather-abusers and legendaries).
