I wasn't trying to take the piss I just don't see the appeal of the black one compared to silver.

I have two black DS Lites and they're always covered with finger prints and scratches show up really easily. Silver is the only option for a clean look that isn't Red/Blue.

The resolution is worse on the Xl due the PPI. So the image is blown up and stretched giving you worse looking graphics which are blurry.

I bought a 3DS for my son and another for myself recently. He wanted that Animal Crossing game, but for myself I chose to get Ocarina of Time for nostalgia's sake. Surpassed my expectations and the console is fun as fuck.

Nintendo intended to releases the 3dsxL at the same time the 3ds was released. Each game card has two resolutions programed, one for the larger screen of the XL and one for the standard size. You don't actually lose resolution
