Accourding to everyone Ash Ketchum started his journey at the age of 10 and has been going for 14 years correct?
Wrong! using simple first grade math and an understanding that the time spent in tv shows do not run parralel to the real world, I can proove that not only is Ash older but by how much.
Ok so we have 795 episodes of pokemon, 48 specials and 16 movies thats a grand total of 859 episodes from start to current if we take each episode as a single day, this gives us -
>859 episodes = 859 days
Next lets add an extra day for each movie so -
>859 + 16 = 875
then to be safe we'll divide this number by the number of seasons -
>875 / 17 = 51.470588 (6 decimal places is fine)
Lets round that up and add it to our total -
>52 + 875 = 972
So now lets use our knowledge of a 12 month calender and we'll say that 365 days = one year our total reaches about 31.5 months so lets round it up to 32 months or 973(974) days, this gives us a grand total of -
>973(974) days = 32 months
>32 / 12 = 2.66667 so lets call it 2.7 thats 2 years and 7 months
Now lets add our original age of 10 to the total running time of the entire series which is 2y 7m
>10 + 2.7 = 12.7
Our little Ash is a grand total of 12 years and 7 months old.
